Jeff Buckley’s Lament
Sunday, March 21st, 2010
BBC’s Soul Music featured Dido’s Lament which is the beautiful piece of music they play leading up to the silence on Remembrance Day. The composer, Henry Purcell who died in 1695, aged 36, has influenced contemporary film scores and music.
The treat comes at the end when Jeff Buckley sings the Lament. The programme has now been taken off iPlayer but you can listen to him singing here with a description of the recording.
