Keaton Henson

Keaton is a poet and illustrator but a reluctant singer/songwriter. He didn’t intend his songs to be heard by anyone else and attempts to play live were abandoned after two shows because he was so uncomfortable. He doesn’t give interviews either, preferring to draw or handwrite his answers. His songs are heartbreakingly honest and raw. I went to photograph him at home in Richmond where he wrote and recorded his first album, Dear. Rather than promote the album with a poster, he opted to hand paint the text and a sobbing hare, on the Foundry site in Old Street.

For the next album, he is going to LA to collaborate with producer, Joe Chiccarelli.
