I stumbled on La Fromagerie in Moxon Street off Marylebone High Street while I was looking for Christmas card images. It has a dark and traditional atmosphere, quite a Quaker feeling inside. There is nothing frivolous about the goods on display, just a rigorous attention to the provenance of the food. There are spots of vivid colour in baskets of clementines and unwaxed lemons. Night Time by Ana Laura Lopez de la Torre is an artist's book full of images, stories and poems exploring the night. She collected the material through a series of events and conversations with the people of Southwark in London. The multicultural backgrounds of the contributors give the writing and imagery an edge.

Rhonda Drakeford and Lulu Roper-Caldbeck have opened a fabulous fashion and interiors store in Lamb's Conduit Street. Their design and textile backgrounds are evident in the textures and dark, graphic store design. It feels like a very personal selection of goods and they try to source designers and craftsmen that are unique to the store.
