Pick Me Up
Saturday, March 19th, 2011 The contemporary graphic art fair is on until 27 March at Somerset House. 24 new graphic designers and illustrators are exhibiting and selling the prints. Some great collage from Yoh Nagao and Eda Akaltun and magical illustration from Victo Ngai. Collective, It’s Nice That, have also curated some animations and shorts for their cinema.
Anthony Burrill is running an open studio with changing events – interactive iPad projections, kinetic print making, spray stencils. No Days Off will customize 100 album sleeves with collage on the last two days and then raffle them off.

We shot Mary Katrantzou’s collection for a new Soma editorial. Mary used pictures of 1970′s interiors, furnishing materials and shapes for her collection. As the model was wearing the interior, we decided to print huge images of the girl for the room set. The model is Jessica P with styling by Sabrina Henry.

The Lotus Flower video from The King of Limbs is great, amazing movement from Thom Yorke. The video is directed by Garth Jennings with choreography by Wayne McGregor.
I actually really like the re-cut version to Single Ladies as well.

We made these bare shots as backgrounds for a Soma shoot featuring Mary Katrantzou dresses. We printed the images out 2m high.
